THE MOST COMMON QUESTIONS
The Roan To Riches (R2R) program is comprised of a Roan To Riches Stallion Service Sale and Roan To Riches Futurity. Roan To Riches is property of the American Roan Horse Association (ARHA). Its mission is to promote the breeding of roan horses of AQHA, APHA and ApHC bloodlines, and to offer a futurity showcase and increased earning potential for exhibitors and their roan horses.
The Roan To Riches Stallion Service Sale is the annual sale of discounted breeding services of R2R nominated stallions. Stallions become nominated to the R2R by the donation of one breeding service. All proceeds from the annual R2R Stallion Service Sale go toward the annual R2R Futurity purse and program.
No. Any AQHA, APHA or ApHC stallion can be nominated by simply donating one breeding to the program, to be sold through the R2R Stallion Service Sale at 50% of the base stud fee, or $400, whichever is greater. Whether the breeding sells or not, the nominated stallion and all offspring of the nominated stallion become futurity eligible for the designated nomination year, providing they are ARHA registered.
R2R Stallion Service Sales gets split 85% to the annual Roan To Riches Futurity purse, to be distributed equally among the futurity classes offered for that year, and 15% to the ARHA for administation.
All R2R Futurity class entry fees are retained by the ARHA to cover administrative and advertising expenses.
Any ARHA registered Roan or Roan Bred Solid nominated stallion, or any ARHA registered Roan or Roan Bred Solid offspring of nominated stallions, are eligible for entry in the R2R Futurity of the enrollment year. Horses DO NOT need to be resulting foals from the R2R Stallion Service Sale to be futurity eligible. There are no horse age eligibility restrictions beyond those that are class specific. There are no rider eligibility restrictions other than riders and owners must be valid ARHA members in order to compete. Refer to the Roan To Riches Futurity page for full futurity terms and conditions. https://www.roantoriches.com/r2r-futurity
Yes. Each eligible entry shall pay the R2R Futurity entry slot fee, submit entry form and required documents by the entry deadline, and have a W-9 on file. Each Futurity Slot Entry Fee will be retained for promotional and administrative expenses. Entry fees, entry forms, entry deadlines, classes offered, eligibility and conditions will be posted on the American Roan Horse Association website. This information is subject to change, so be sure and keep up to date by bookmarking the R2R webpage.
If your horse has at least one roan parent, he may be eligible for ARHA registration, regardless of his color. Be sure and learn about ARHA’s new Roan and Roan Bred Solid registration requirements. https://www.ridearoan.com/registration
The Roan To Riches Futurity purse will be based upon the proceeds from the annual Roan To Riches Stallion Service Sale and number of horses entered. The total purse will vary annually, dependent on variables in number and breeding fees of nominated stallions and the total sum of stallion services sold, as well as overall futurity entries.
